Recently, Gearcraft has interviewed smaller youtubers, discussing how they got started, and what it’s like trying to find a place in the crowded space that is Youtube. Today marks the beginning of a series exploring the other side of the coin: what it’s like to be successful.

We begin with the series with AntVenom, of Survival Games winning fame. Today I asked him 8 questions about his success on Youtube.
1.When did you realize that making videos could be a successful job?
Right around the time when I got my first job after tech school. I added up the numbers, and found out I was making more doing YouTube than I was doing that job, so I quit, and took on YouTube full time.
2.What do your parents/relatives/friends think of your job?
They’re very supportive. At first, they were definitely worried, but when I was able to move into my own place, and sustain myself, they became much more comfortable with it.
3.Can you give us a run-down of your daily schedule?
As far as YouTube is concerned, I either make my videos shortly before bed, or shortly after I wake up. Depends on my motivation on a given day, and how good of an idea I have for a given video. As far as what I post…it really is a wild-card on most days. I post whatever seems like the coolest possible thing I could show off that day :P.
4.Do you see yourself ever ending/closing your Channel?
Nope. If I ever do, it’s because I have to. But you’ll have to pry my channel from my cold dead fingers to get me to close it down :P
5.For you, what’s the biggest perk of being a youtuber?
Having so much awesome feedback from so many awesome people who love my content, and want to see me improve as much as I want to improve. The connection is definitely the most rewarding benefit. That, and being able to do something I love for a living.
6.Do you enjoy being a youtuber?
Of course. If I didn’t, I’d go crazy. It’s like many people have said in the past. You’ll never work a day in your life if you love what you do.
7.Do you hate cows in real life?
Nah. Just when they interrupt every word I say in Minecraft :P.
8.Anything else you would like to add?
Hope you GearCraftians enjoyed this little interview! My name is AntVenom, and I bid you farewell! Thanks so much for reading!
