This easy method to capture villagers was posted by /u/legendary_assassin on Reddit. This is cruel as f*** but I’m so okay with it.
First we dig a tunnel from the village to our base
Just dig out from underneath the villagers to get them into the tunnel.
Use water to push them along the tunnel.
They will be stubborn at first, but once you get far enough away from their village they will be more compliant :)
Now we build their resting place
Half slabs are the permanent home
the dirt is just used to guide them home.
Block off the villager 1 block off from the home
hey down there
Place water source here
they will swim right into their place
Block off the exit
Pick up water, place last slab, and remove dirt.
Et Voila!
You now have easy to trade with villagers at your disposal.
