Earlier this year, we reported that Shawn Levy was to direct the upcoming Minecraft movie, which is still in very early stages.
Today however, Justin Kroll of Variety reported that Levy, along with writers Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney have left the Warner Bros. project. Reports suggest that Levy and the Mulroney’s presented a new idea to the studio, but it “didn’t mesh with what the video game developers were looking for”. This has led to the split.
Here’s our original coverage of the movie:
First reported by Deadline, the director of “Night at the Museum” Shawn Levy is billed to direct a possible Minecraft movie.
