Let’s build it!

Here’s what you’ll need.

If you aren’t sure how to make the banner, heere’s the recipe:

Place a hopper in the ground.

Place a hopper in the ground.
This makes sure the Armour stand sits at the correct height.

Place an armour stand in the hopper and add a chain helmet.

I think it looks better facing the back wall, but it doesn’t make much difference if it’s facing forwards.

Push blocks over the armour stand.

I’m using spruce planks for the desk and nether brick stairs for the body of the typewriter. Other materials may suit you better.

Add stairs to the side in item frames.

Add stairs to the side in item frames.
These are intended to look like carry handles…
…and since the block sticks through the other side of the item frame, they add a bit of shape to the typewriter body as well.

Add the banner over the top as paper.

A blank white banner also works great if you want blank paper.

Dress up your desk!

I’ve added a pumpkin desk lamp with a torch concealed inside. Tutorial for that is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hKXfmCac9U

Now you want to sit at the desk, right?

I always make chairs out of minecarts now. Because, y’know, you can actually sit in them? Boats work too but they look bigger.

Roll the minecart onto a slab.

Roll the minecart onto a slab.
If this was 1.9 I’d use something shorter than a slab, like a daylight sensor or snow layers, so the minecart sits a little lower – but I made this in 1.8 and you can’t attach trapdoors to that stuff.

Add trapdoors and a door for arms/back.

Add an item frame for detail.

Put what you want in it. Upside-down string? Sweet.
