At the recent TwitchCon, the Minecraft: Story Mode Demo that was playable at PAX was publicly played, and therefore available to the Minecraft community as a whole. An 18 minute video has been uploaded to Youtube by OzzyUK. In it, you can watch Job Stauffer and Laura Perusco (two Telltale Games employees) playing the Story Mode demo. There’s about 15 minutes of Gameplay, and what we know so far is that it looks like Minecraft, and plays a little bit like Minecraft.
However, Story Mode is not Minecraft. Like other Telltale Games, it relies on dialogue choices and QTEs (Quick Time Events). Further, as far as we know, there isn’t any building. (There is crafting however).
So far, I’m impressed. The game looks like a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to play it. However, for now we don’t know that much more than what was shown.
