Minecon 2015 is one of the most anticipated events of the year. Its going to be the biggest most extravagant Minecon in Minecraft history. Your favorite YouTube stars will be there such as Stampy, Sqaishey, CaptainSparklez, Dan TheDiamondMinecraft, iBallisticSquid, TheBajanCanadian, Jerome ASF and more. This year Minecraft has a lot to announce, including the long awaited Microsoft’s HoloLens which will allow you to play Minecraft in augmented reality. New Mods which will be introduced from Telltale Games and Samasaurus6, Cosplay, Turtles?, Q&A, a possible Minecraft 1.9 snapshot and much more.
When Minecon 2014 was cancelled, many were disappointed and then we were hit with the news that Microsoft acquired Mojang for 2.5 Billion dollars.
Minecraft HoloLens Demo at E3
Fortunately, Microsoft’s HoloLens looks very promising, we’re extremely anxious and can’t wait to try it out, hopefully there will be a playable demo at Minecon 2015 for us to try out.
Our favorite YouTubers have also announced that they will be at Minecon 2015 as well.
Stampy Cat, Popular YouTuber
Stampycat or Stampy longnose, whatever you wanna call him, he will be there with his friends Sqaishey and iBallisticSquid representing. Stampy or Joseph Garrett ,as he is known when he isn’t entertaining his fans, has a new program which he has spearheaded called Wonder Quest. Wonder Quest is an educational program targeted to the demographics of his fans which are children ages 3-10.
We also expect CaptainSparklez to show up, he recently has a new action figure toy which is based off his character on YouTube. Dan TheDiamondMinecraft will be there as well. I bet you don’t know these 5 secrets about him.
Samasaurus6 which is the creator of the amazing and legendary Planetary Confinement: The Dunes will not be there, but he had this to say, “I’m not going, but a map that Cubehamster, Wubbi and I worked on together will be announced at Minecon! It’s going to be something never before seen in vanilla Minecraft, so I hope you all will enjoy it!” We can’t wait!

Storymode which is set in the world of Minecraft will feature an original story, driven by player choice. It will not be an add-on for Minecraft, but rather a separate stand-alone product that will premiere in 2015 on consoles, computers and mobile devices.
Minecon Cosplay
Another reason why Minecon is so popular is the cosplay! This year you can be sure there will be many many kids and adults dressed as their favorite characters, including custom printed costume heads. We are also looking forward to the Q&A segment of the convention. This is the time that fans can ask many professionals in the Minecraft industry questions on their mind and hopefully get honest answers. Minecon 2013 has plenty of awkward moments during the Q&A sections, with some of the panel getting rude with the fans. Obviously they didn’t mean it, but we hope this year will be a lot better than 2013. here is a clip from 2013 highlighting the most awkward moments. It makes an entertaining video.
The main attraction though which everyone is anticipating is a possible snapshot of Minecraft 1.9, which has been in development for a long time now. Big rumor that the use of your left arm will be incorporated, probably to hold a shield, but no plans for dual wielding (sad face).
