In 1.8, the addition of Slime Blocks, and their functionality with sticky pistons has led to many redstone geniuses creating amazing flying machines and similar contraptions.

So, what can you do with sticky pistons and slimeblocks?
Cubehampster has created a Controllable Flying Bomber. He describes it as a “Flying TNT Bomber that you can control. Fires extremely powerful bombs. Powerful enough to insta-kill someone in full diamond blast protection IV armor and able to drill holes all the way down to bedrock. This thing has enough firepower to crash a server.”
